Beginner Tips
1Choose AWD starters. Audi RS6 Avant or Subaru WRX STI — fast on road, tough on dirt, forgiving for new players.
2Rush the Horizon Adventure. Unlock all race categories (Road, Dirt, Cross Country, Street, Drag) as early as possible.
3Spend skill points immediately. Prioritize credits boost, XP boost, and wheelspin perks on your most-used cars.
4Buy the fast travel house first. Each house has a perk. Fast travel anywhere is the most impactful early purchase.
5Smash every fast travel board. Each board reduces fast travel cost by 200 CR. 50 boards = free fast travel forever.
6Check the auction house first. Many cars sell for half the autoshow price. Never buy from the autoshow without checking.
7Do the weekly Festival Playlist. Even easy challenges earn 1–2 exclusive cars per week that cannot be obtained elsewhere.
8Join every Horizon Arcade. Cooperative events pop up every 15 minutes. No risk of losing — free rewards for showing up.
Race Types
Road Racing
Closed tarmac circuits — high speed, sweeping corners. Tune for grip and speed.
Best: S1 / S2 SupercarsDirt Racing
Loose surface rally — gravel, mud, dirt. AWD and rally tires are essential.
Best: Rally Cars, AWD SportsCross Country
Rough terrain with jumps and water crossings. High suspension, off-road tires.
Best: Trucks, SUVs, BuggiesStreet Scene
Night racing with traffic. No barriers — civilian cars are obstacles. Grip over speed.
Best: Agile S1 / A ClassDrag Racing
Pure straight-line acceleration. Launch, gearing, tire compound — milliseconds count.
Best: Electric, AWD MonstersDrift Zones
Scored by angle, speed, duration. Drift suspension + tires, RWD. Finesse over power.
Best: Supra, Silvia, Formula DriftTuning Basics
Tire Pressure
Lower (26–28 PSI)More grip for off-road and wet conditions. Increases tire heat.
Higher (30–32 PSI)Less rolling resistance, higher top speed for dry road racing.
Start at28 PSI front and rear, then adjust by feel.
Gearing
Shorter final driveFaster acceleration, lower top speed. Best for technical tracks.
Longer final driveHigher top speed, slower acceleration. Best for highway and Goliath.
Gear by gear1st–2nd short enough to control wheelspin. Top gear hits redline at max speed point on track.
Camber
Front (−0.5° to −1.5°)More negative = more corner grip, less braking stability.
Rear (−0.3° to −1.0°)Less than front for stability. Too much makes the car twitchy.
Off-roadUse less camber (−0.3° to −0.5°) since surfaces are uneven.
Anti-Roll Bars
Stiffer frontReduces understeer — front end bites into corners harder.
Stiffer rearReduces oversteer — rear stays planted under hard cornering.
Default approachSet both to mid-range, then adjust whichever end is causing the problem.
Springs & Ride Height
Lower ride heightBetter aerodynamics, lower center of gravity. Use for road racing.
Higher ride heightBetter off-road clearance. Use for cross country and dirt.
Stiffness tradeoffStiffer = sharper but bumpier. Softer = more grip on rough surfaces but more body roll.
Differential
High lock (80–100%)Both wheels spin together — best for drifting and off-road.
Low lock (30–50%)Wheels spin independently — best for tight road cornering.
Center diff (AWD)60–70% rear bias gives RWD feel with AWD grip. Best of both worlds.
Aero Downforce
More front DFReduces understeer at high speed through fast sweepers.
More rear DFAdds stability but reduces top speed. Trade carefully.
Track-based choiceSpeed tracks: minimum downforce. Technical tracks: maximum for corner grip.
