FH6 FAQ — The Questions Everyone Keeps Asking

The stuff everyone keeps asking about FH6. Straight answers, no fluff. Release date, platforms, Game Pass, cross-play — and the questions that come up every single day in the Discord.

When, Where & How Much

When does Forza Horizon 6 release?
Late 2026 is the official window. No exact date yet — Playground is being cagey about it, which is normal for this stage. Pre-orders should open sometime mid-2026. They first showed it at the Xbox Games Showcase, and we'll probably get a proper release date announcement around E3 season.
What platforms is FH6 on?
Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC (Steam, Microsoft Store, PC Game Pass). Yep, it's coming to PlayStation — first time in the series. Big deal. If you're on PS5 and never touched a Forza game, you're in for a treat.
Is FH6 coming to Xbox One?
Nope. Current-gen only — Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC. Xbox One gets left behind. If you're still on last-gen hardware, time to upgrade or go the cloud streaming route.
Will FH6 be available on cloud gaming?
Yeah, through Xbox Cloud Gaming if you have Game Pass Ultimate. You can play on your phone, a tablet, or even a potato laptop — as long as your internet's decent. Input lag exists but it's playable for casual stuff.

Game Pass, Pricing & Which Version to Buy

Will FH6 be on Game Pass day one?
Yep. Day one on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. No extra charge beyond your sub. If you're already paying for Game Pass, you're getting FH6 for free (kind of).
How much will FH6 cost?
No official pricing yet, but based on FH5: Standard should be around $69.99, Deluxe ~$89.99, Premium ~$99.99. Don't quote me on that — it's just the pattern they've followed for years.
What's in the Premium Edition?
Premium Edition gets you: base game, Car Pass (42 cars, one per week), VIP membership (permanent 2x credit multiplier on all races), Expansion Pass (2 big expansions — usually a new map area each), and 4 days early access. If you're gonna put hundreds of hours in, the VIP double credits alone make it arguably worth the extra cost.

Cars, Map & How It Plays

How many cars are in FH6?
500+ at launch, same ballpark as FH5. Then more keep coming through the Car Pass (one per week), seasonal playlist rewards, and DLC. The roster eventually gets kind of ridiculous. FH5 ended up with something like 800+ cars if you count everything.
Where is FH6 set?
The exact location hasn't been officially revealed, but leaks and teasers strongly point to Japan — a long-requested setting by the community. See the map page for details.
Is there cross-play between platforms?
Full cross-play across everything — Xbox, PS5, Steam, MS Store PC. Doesn't matter what your friends play on, you can all convoy up and race together. It just works.
Do saves transfer between platforms?
Cross-save works between Xbox and Microsoft Store PC — your progress syncs automatically. Steam is separate (annoying, I know). PS5 is also separate. So if you're juggling platforms, stick with Xbox + MS Store PC if you want your garage to follow you.

PC Specs, Storage & Hardware

What are the FH6 system requirements?
See the full requirements page. Minimum: GTX 1060 / RX 580. Recommended: RTX 3070 / RX 6800. Ultra: RTX 4080 / RX 7900 XT. SSD required for all tiers.
Is FH6 Steam Deck compatible?
Steam Deck verified at launch. They're targeting 40 FPS on Low and 30 FPS on Medium. The OLED model runs slightly better thanks to the more efficient chip. Not gonna be a locked 60 by any stretch — but honestly driving around Japan at 30-40 FPS on a handheld is still pretty magical.
Does FH6 support steering wheels?
Yep. Logitech (G920, G923, G Pro), Thrustmaster (T300, T-GT II, T818), Fanatec (CSL DD, Podium DD1/DD2), and Moza are all confirmed. Direct drive wheels feel incredible in Horizon — way more immersive than a controller, though some people honestly prefer controller for drifting.
How much storage does FH6 need?
About 130 GB on all platforms. And yes, SSD is mandatory — the game uses DirectStorage so it literally won't boot from an old spinning hard drive. Clear some space. Modern gaming is ridiculous.

Cars, Trucks & Release Details

Will the FH6 have a Toyota?
Yes. Toyota is confirmed for Forza Horizon 6. Confirmed models so far include the GR Supra (2020), GR Yaris, GR Corolla, Land Cruiser, Sprinter Trueno GT Apex, 2000GT, and the GR GT Prototype concept. That's at least 7 Toyotas at launch, with more expected through DLC and seasonal rewards. Toyota sat out FH4 but came back strong in FH5 — it looks like they're all-in for FH6.
What trucks are in the FH6?
Three trucks are confirmed so far: the Ford F-150 Raptor R (off-road monster, A class), Ford Bronco Raptor (great for cross-country), and Toyota Land Cruiser (surprisingly fun to build as a rally truck). More trucks and SUVs are expected — Playground usually drops a few surprises in the full car list reveal. If you want something that can handle jumps and dirt while still being fast on pavement, the F-150 Raptor R is your pick.
Will FH6 be next-gen only?
Yes. Forza Horizon 6 is current-gen only: Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC. There is no Xbox One version. The game uses DirectStorage and the new ForzaTech engine, which require an SSD and modern GPU architecture — last-gen consoles simply can't run it. If you're still on Xbox One, your options are: upgrade, use Xbox Cloud Gaming with a Game Pass Ultimate subscription, or play on PC.
What month will FH6 come out?
The official window is "Late 2026." Based on Forza Horizon release patterns: FH4 dropped October 2018, FH5 dropped November 2021. Industry insiders and credible leakers are pointing to a September–November 2026 window, with October being the most likely. Playground Games typically announces the exact date at the Xbox Games Showcase in June, so expect a concrete date around E3 season. Pre-orders should open mid-2026.
