FH6 Beginner's Guide — First 10 Things to Do

Starting Forza Horizon 6? Here's exactly what to do in your first 3 hours to set yourself up for success. Follow these steps in order.

Step 1: Complete the Intro Sequence

The opening 15-20 minutes gives you your first few cars and introduces the Horizon Festival. Don't skip it — the starter cars you pick here determine your early game flexibility. Choose one road car and one off-road capable car.

Step 2: Unlock All Horizon Adventure Chapters

Horizon Adventure unlocks race categories one by one: Road Racing, Dirt Racing, Cross Country, Street Scene, and Drag. Each chapter requires earning a set number of Accolade points. Focus on unlocking all categories before deep-diving any single one.

Step 3: Buy the Fast Travel House

The Buenas Vistas house (or FH6 equivalent) unlocks fast travel anywhere on the map. This is the single most impactful early purchase — it saves hours of driving between events. Cost: ~2,000,000 CR. Worth every credit.

Step 4: Smash Every Fast Travel Board

50 fast travel bonus boards are scattered across the map. Each one reduces fast travel cost by 200 CR. Smash all 50 and fast travel becomes completely free. Use the map filter to show bonus boards, then systematically hunt them.

Step 5: Get a Multiplier Car

Cars with a 7× skill multiplier in their Car Mastery tree are essential for farming skill points. Top picks: Hoonigan Ford RS200 (also amazing for dirt), BMW M6 FE, or any car with the "Skill Multiplier Boost" mastery perk.

Step 6: Spend Skill Points on Car Mastery

Every car has a mastery tree. For cars you use frequently, prioritize these perks in order: Credits Boost → XP Boost → Wheelspin → Free Fast Travel. Don't hoard skill points — spend them immediately on cars you're actively racing.

Step 7: Join the Weekly Festival Playlist

Every week brings a new Festival Playlist with exclusive cars. Even completing just the easy challenges (photo challenge, PR stunts, basic races) earns 1-2 cars that cannot be obtained any other way. These cars appreciate massively in the auction house.

Step 8: Check the Auction House Before Any Purchase

Before buying ANY car from the Autoshow, check the Auction House first. Many cars sell for 40-60% of their Autoshow price. The AH is also where you'll make your real money — more on that in the Money Farming guide.

Step 9: Join Every Horizon Arcade

Horizon Arcade events pop up every 15 minutes and are cooperative — you cannot fail them. They reward Forzathon Points (spend in the Forzathon Shop for rare cars), XP, and wheelspins. Show up, participate, collect rewards.

Step 10: Build a Garage, Not Just One Car

FH6 has diverse event types. You need at minimum: one S1/S2 road racer, one A-class rally car, one off-road truck (A class), one drift car, and one drag car. Don't pour all your credits into one hypercar — build a balanced garage first.
